The Craft of the Finish: From Chrome to Canvas Born and raised in Chesapeake, Va., Art has been the pulse of my life for 40 years. My journey started with basic school art classes and automotive painting—a world of precision and detail-which evolved into a 15-year career in color realism tattooing. Three years ago, I built and opened Low-Key Designs Tattoo, where I am currently a full-time tattoo artist. My work is defined by the same “hands-on” obsession that started in the paint booth: a drive to understand how color lives on a surface, whether that surface is steel or skin.
Evolution & The Workshop
Lately, I’ve been pushing my boundaries by translating 6 years of automotive painting and 15 years of tattooing knowledge into acrylic painting and sculpture. I’m a builder at heart—if I’m not behind the machine, I’m in the workshop crafting custom furniture pieces for my cats!
